Soft Paintings

Artnova Studio & Galleries was established in 1989 and gave birth to a new technique - Soft Painting, which was developed in Israel by local artists. In this technique, the artist uses synthetic acrylic fibers in a wide variety of shades and creates the vision he wishes to render using these fibers/ pieces of synthetic felt/ burlap or colorful acrylic strings, thus effectively painting with these materials without the use of paint! To this day, this technique is exclusive to Artnova’s four artists and can only be bought in one of our galleries.

Each one of our pieces is handmade and original, though we do create reproductions and special commissions if requested. The medium itself provides you with a painting that has a different visibility from any other medium - it’s warm and tactile, it absorbs the light unlike traditional paintings that reflects the light, this all gives the customer a special artwork that is unlike any other. It also gives the customer added value once he realizes that the fibers we use are produced from recycled plastic thus making it “green art” and this also means that the paintings are made from non-degradable materials, which gives them the longevity you look for when you buy artworks! 

There are almost no restrictions on the size, color and shape of the works that Artnova’s artists can create. The paintings can either be stretched on an internal hidden frame or made into tapestries which can be fixed directly on the wall with Velcro tape. They are a perfect solution for large wall decorations, conclave and concave rounded walls. And can be used as a unique solution for places where frames are not feasible like entrance lobbies, conference rooms and halls, stairwells, ships, yachts, aircraft, and so on. In addition to being an artistic decision, soft paintings can also be excellent acoustic solution. Insulation materials can be integrated into the painting itself and behind the painting, making it an ideal solution for large spaces with acoustic problems.
